The Boone County Extension Homemakers host two (2) Sewing Day each year where articles are created that will be donated to our local charities. At each event the BCEH asks for volunteers to come out and help with this project. There are many different jobs where you can come for an hour or stay for the whole time. We need people to cut fabric, tie blankets iron, create tote bags, rice bags and covers. Come and enjoy helping others while having fun being with others.
Items created during our events go to help Riley Hospital, YOUR NOT ALONE project as well as Head Start programs.
Address for this event always takes place at the Boone County 4-H Fairgrounds, Extension Office 1300 E 100 S (Interstate 65N, Exit 138), Lebanon, IN, United States, Indiana and is from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Farm Bureau Community Building. Feel free to bring a sack lunch and we will provide the drinks. Please feel free to bring your sewing machine if possible.
You do not need to know how to sew to participate!

The Boone County Extension Homemakers work hard to help others in need. With our Threads for Compassion donations we are able to comfort families of organ donors. Indiana Donor Network offers comfort shawls to families at the time of their loved ones donations. The shawls are made by volunteers from across Indiana as part of Indiana Donor Network's Threads of Compassion program. Would you like to help but do not have yarn? No, worries the BCEH will help you!
